Bree Schvaneveldt taught in the Weber School District for 13 years, where she loved helping students discover their potential. She believes in building meaningful relationships and creating a classroom that is safe, welcoming, exciting, and filled with opportunities to learn and grow.

Bree is the proud mom of three amazing and active kids who are her whole world: Tydan (15), Devree (13), and Trey (10). Their family also includes Nike, their lovable mini Goldendoodle.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Bree enjoys both playing and watching sports. Basketball was her first love, but these days you'll most often find her competing in high-level pickleball tournaments. She loves cheering for Utah teams, but nothing compares to watching her own children compete in golf, basketball, baseball, volleyball, soccer, and whatever new adventure they decide to pursue next.

Music has always been an important part of Bree's life. She served as Chamber Choir President in high school and performed her first solo in front of her entire elementary school when she was in fourth grade. She still loves expressing herself through music and singing whenever she gets the chance.

When she's not teaching, Bree loves exploring the outdoors. Hiking, fishing, discovering wildlife, and even searching for creepy crawly bugs are some of her favorite adventures. Her name is not Moana, but the ocean does speak peace to her. 😉

Together with her talented sister, Ashley, Bree has written several children's books, which Ashley has beautifully illustrated. Bree especially enjoys teaching creative writing and inspiring students to take an idea from their imagination and bring it to life on paper.

In 2017, Bree founded Takara Hunts, a business that creates custom treasure hunts for birthdays, schools, businesses, and special events. She loves designing puzzles that encourage people to slow down, think creatively, and notice the incredible details they often overlook. She has incorporated many of these treasure hunts into her classroom, where students eagerly embrace the challenge and celebrate the excitement of solving each mystery.

Bree graduated as the salutatorian of her college class and was honored to speak at graduation. One quote from that speech continues to guide both her life and her teaching:

"Success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts."

Bree is honored and excited to be part of the SEED School community. She looks forward to building lasting relationships with her students and their families while helping every child grow in confidence, curiosity, kindness, and a love of learning. 💖
