Amber Wood
Teacher
Amber Wood, a lifelong Alaskan, grew up in Palmer where she developed a deep love for the outdoors through camping, hunting, fishing, and sports. A four-sport letter winner in high school, she went on to play collegiate soccer at Mesa College in Arizona before transferring to Southern Utah University to compete at the Division I level and earn her Bachelor’s degree in Education with a coaching emphasis. After graduation, Amber returned to Alaska to teach in the same schools she once attended, spending ten fulfilling years in the classroom. In 2014, a visit to Bear River City led her to meet her husband, Nathan Wood, and they now live in Honeyville with their two children, Bodie and Madison. The family shares a passion for the outdoors, spending their free time hunting, camping, and fly fishing the South Fork of the Snake River with their dog, Scout. Whether in the classroom or out in nature, Amber brings energy, joy, and a strong sense of purpose to everything she does.
